Ausco Marine showcases intelligent buoy deployment in Singapore at IODS 2026

West Australian maritime technology company successfully installs and commissions autonomous maritime intelligent buoy system for Singapore operations.

PERTH, Western Australia – 27 May 2026: Ausco Marine (the maritime technology subsidiary of Ausco Group), exhibiting at the Indian Ocean Defence and Security Conference and Exhibition (IODS 2026) in Perth, is proud to announce the successful completion of a project to develop, supply, install and commission its AMAS Intelligent Buoy technology solution for a border security operation in Singapore.

The completion of the project marks an important international milestone for Ausco Marine, and reflects growing global demand for deployable maritime autonomy, resilient communications and distributed sensing capabilities across the Indo-Pacific.

Developed by Ausco Maine, the AMAS Intelligent Buoy is an autonomous maritime infrastructure delivering persistent intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) for marine environments.

The buoy acts as a readily deployable node for decentralised distributed maritime networks, supporting scalable command, control and communications for unmanned maritime systems.

Key capabilities include:

  • Autonomous platforms enabling command, control and communications for unmanned maritime systems
  • Built for ocean monitoring, defence surveillance and remote sensing
  • Supports integration from space to subsea
  • Solar-powered with secure mesh networking for remote and contested operations
  • Rapidly deployable node supporting distributed maritime networks
  • Modular payloads for sensing, acoustic monitoring and secure data relay

Ausco Marine’s Founder & CEO Alex Murphy said the Singapore project shows growing demand for practical Australian technology that can be manufactured, integrated and deployed for real maritime security missions.

“Announcing this successful completion at IODS is a proud moment for Ausco Marine and Ausco Products (our engineering and manufacturing subsidiary) and a strong validation of what Australian SMEs can deliver into the region and internationally,” Mr Murphy said.

“Our AMAS Intelligent Buoy brings together our engineering heritage, advanced manufacturing capability and growing focus on autonomous maritime systems. It is designed to be practical, deployable and scalable – helping partners connect sensors, uncrewed systems and decision-makers across complex maritime environments.”

The Singapore program builds on Ausco Group’s partnership with international primes and its work integrating buoy-based sea nodes with shore infrastructure to support unmanned surface vessel operations.

The client praised the performance of the AMAS Intelligent Buoy and Ausco’s delivery of the project.

“The AMAS 2600 smart buoy demonstrated robust engineering, solid workmanship and reliable, resilient performance in a demanding offshore environment. Ausco Marine’s professionalism, project commitment and practical, solutions-oriented approach were instrumental to successful implementation,” said an unnamed Client Project Manager.

“The AMAS Intelligent Ocean Buoy platform demonstrates the engineering depth and operational focus needed to support integrated maritime security, distributed sensing and critical infrastructure protection,” said Client Senior Vice President, International Business.

Ausco Marine is exhibiting at IODS 2026 at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 26 to 28 May, where the company is engaging with defence, government and industry partners on Australian-made solutions for the Indo-Pacific.

Ausco Group, comprising Ausco Products and Ausco Marine, is a third-generation Western Australian engineering and advanced manufacturing company delivering sovereign capability for defence, maritime and remote operations. With 80 years of engineering heritage and modern digital manufacturing capability, Ausco designs, develops and produces mission-critical mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for harsh environments.
